Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one session, without having to switch devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively modest price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, full dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For example, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it can hit objects and walls at full speed - but an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. It's not like the model from last year this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It is able to change its path automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.
It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is striking and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. You can change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

It can be controlled using the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many convenient features that make it an excellent option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you before it gets overflowing, reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive available however, it comes with many extra features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.
Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a useful method to keep your home clean for longer.
There's a wealth of settings on offer, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has a number of features that aren't offered on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
